I bought these NYDJ shorts to replace an older pair of the same brand that have been worn and washed so much that they’re showing wear. These fit my apple shaped body well; I didn’t size down as this brand usually recommends. I bought a petite for my 5’ 2” height, and they are slightly above my knees in length. I bought a pair that was one size smaller than my usual size, and they were still too large. I also don't think that they are well sized for a petite woman. The waist bad gapped very badly because it set too high on my torso. They appear to be well made if they happen to fit you. I bought them on a half price sale. To my taste, the regular price would be way too expensive.they are a tad too long as I am 4'11" tall.NancyOK, but run big. I wear size small, 0 in gap jeans, and have another pair of NYDJ that are size 0. The 0 in these is too big in waist; would fall down.The instructions said that I should order one size smaller than my normal size which is a 10 because the sizes run large, so I ordered a size 8. This isn't true. It fit perfectly until the first time that I washed it. It shrank a whole size. Therefore I should have ordered the size 10 and it would have fit perfectly. Now it's too small. What a waste of time and money. I'm not happy.
