I have an entry level road bike and been looking for a pair of comfortable shorts for a long time.This one is exactly what i was looking for, I do around 30 miles everyday ... and 50 on the weekends.From a product quality point of view, this is Gore bike wear, so you are definitely getting something worth your money.The pockets are not easily accessible though, otherwise ... it's a great short if you are looking for something comfortable.Large did fit great for a 34" waist.I did a lot of research on these before I bought them. If you look up the product online on Gore's website, these come with the padded spandex insert just like other Gore Countdown shorts. These shorts do NOT come with spandex insert so I returned them. It is not mentioned if they do or don't come with insert in the Amazon description, that is why I checked Gore's website.Very disappointed. Product dwscription clearly stated the following:"Optimum comfort The 2-layer padded seat insert ELEMENT MEN provides optimum protection and comfort on short and medium distance rides. The pad supports the cyclist’s pelvic rotation while the ergonomic design with central channel supports male anatomy, relieving numbness and improving circulation. Soft microfiber cover offers a high degree of elasticity and excellent moisture management."THERE IS NO 2LAYER PADDED SEAT INSERT!!!!!!!! One star because it cant be blank. Otherwise, NO STARSFits as expected, BUT the shorts do NOT include a liner of any sort.I have purchased this item before and they are my favorite bike shorts. They have made an improvement since the last one I bought, by making the front pockets deeperFit as expected. Good quality. Plenty of pockets. Great for mountain biking or even just as summer shorts.Excellent.Love themGreat fit but unlike other Gore shorts these split in the crotch after 6 months. Shame as they were / are much more comfortable than other Gore shorts I have. If you're looking for light use shorts - fine.
